Holy Week is the week leading up to Easter. It begins with Palm Sunday and is a week of solemn reflections on the events leading up to Easter.
The Breakdown of the Holy Week
Holy Monday
Jesus cleanses the temple and curses
the fig tree; God prepares those who
will accept His sacrifice.
Holy Tuesday
Jesus teaches in the temple for the last
time; God sends the invitation to come
and enjoy His sacrifice.
Holy Wednesday
Judas betrays, Mary perfumes; God
waits for the response to the invitation.
Holy Thursday
Jesus offers His body and blood in the
last supper; God offers His sacrifice
Resurrection Sunday.
Good Friday
Jesus dies on the cross; God accepts His
sacrifice (a sweet smelling aroma)
Jesus is risen; God gives
us eternal life in Jesus.
(the real treasure)
Holy Saturday
Jesus is laid in the tomb. He takes the saints from Hades to Paradise. God received his saints to Himself.
