Growing up in Ghana, young people learn about everything, from how to walk, talk, or eat. In school, they learn about various things to propel them to succeed. But interestingly, they are rarely taught about money and how to handle it. And yet, we know how important it is in our day-to-day lives.
In this Money Series, we will discuss 15 things young people should learn about money.
1. Build your Income streams:
Income streams are the avenues through which you make money. It can be a job, an investment, a business or a skill. Whatever it is, develop your source. Know the ways you make money and work at it. That way, you can always earn money.
2. Have multiple streams:
It’s good to have a stream where you can drink. But imagine how thirsty you will be if that stream dries up? That is what happens if you only have one income stream. Thus, get multiple streams of income. Simply put, have many avenues where you can make money. For example, you can have a job and a side business. You can run two jobs or have many businesses. They don't have to be million-dollar businesses anyway. Just make sure your streams are endless. To be continued…
