Title: JESUS, THE BREAD OF LIFE
Quote: Prov 9:1-6; Eph 5:15-20; Jn 6:51-58

The gospel repeats what we heard last week, reiterating that the bread from heaven, the flesh of our Savior will give us life now and eternal life after. Because Jesus has been raised, we who are “in Jesus” too shall live because of him.

At the start of every Holy Mass, the priest says “as we prepare to celebrate the mystery of Christ’s love, let us acknowledge our failures…” The mystery of Christ’s love is another way of saying the EUCHARIST. Christ’s love allowed him to give HIMSELF up for us, and does this by giving up his flesh as true body and blood as true drink. Thus the Holy Communion augments our union with and in Christ Jesus.
