Title: “THE CHURCH IS SUSTAINED BY THE HOLY TRINITY.”

The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity reminds us of the three distinct persons in one God: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, who are all at work in every moment of the life of the Church for its sustenance. This doctrine of three distinct persons in one God can be difficult for us to comprehend, as it is a mystery. However, what is required of us is to receive this mystery with a pure heart and humble intellect. As St. Anselm says, "For I do not seek to understand, I believe in order to understand." This belief without questioning enables us to begin and end our prayers with a Trinitarian formula. If we believe in and accept the sacraments celebrated by the Church, we must also recognise the presence of the three distinct persons, who are all at work simultaneously in these celebrations. In today's Gospel, Jesus provides an example of their work, presence, and affirmation as the Trinity in baptism, as He commanded the disciples to baptise in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He also commands us never to neglect the Trinity in every aspect of the life of the Church.
