Title: “BE JOYFUL, FOR TODAY REMINDS US OF THE BIRTH OF THE CHURCH.”
Quote: John 20:19-23

Beloved, fifty days after celebrating Jesus Christ’s resurrection from the dead and forty days after His ascension into heaven, we celebrate Pentecost Sunday. Pentecost Sunday should be a day of joy and pride for us as Catholics because it marks the birth of the Church. Just as God breathed life into man by bestowing on him the Spirit, so did He give life to the Church by the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. As joy and pride fill our hearts, we are also called to continuously let the Holy Spirit direct the Church. The Holy Spirit, who proceeds from the Father and the Son and bears witness to Christ, will guide us to bear witness to Christ as well. All we need to do is let the Counselor, promised by Jesus Christ, guide us to speak the truth, bear good fruits from His sevenfold gifts, and continue to reveal to the Church what she needs to know and teach so that the authority given to the Church will be upheld and safeguarded.
