We are expected to thank God not only for our happy days but also for the troublesome ones. Because, as even the weariest river somehow finally winds its way safe to sea, so God has a way of weaving glorious destiny even through our troubles. Yes, we are called to thank God even in pains in order that we may obtain the salvation to be found in Jesus Christ. Thank him in afflictions for afflictions are but shadow of God’s wings; thank him in sorrow, for one who suffers, conquers. Christianity isn’t authentic without gratitude.
