The Solemnity of the Corpus Christi reminds us of Christ’s real presence, thus His body, blood, soul, and divinity—in the Holy Eucharist. It again reminds us that Christ is always present in His Church, especially in her liturgical celebrations. He is present in the sacrifice of the Mass, not only in the person of His minister, "the same now offering, through the ministry of priests, who formerly offered himself on the cross," but especially under the Eucharistic species. (S.C. no.7). If our teachings admonish us that Christ is with the church, especially in the Most Holy Eucharist, then we have to have deep faith in the Eucharist and adore the Eucharist for every moment we may have that privileged encounter because it is the source and summit of our Christian life. Let us pray that by our daily participation and reception of the Holy Eucharist, we may always be nourished by this precious gift that Christ freely entrusted to his disciples at the Passover of which today we are all beneficiaries.
