Beloved in Christ, it's truly overwhelming to consider that we are called friends of Christ, not merely His servants. Have we ever deeply reflected on this privileged title, 'friends of Christ'? The responsibility that comes with this honour is clear: we are called to obey the commandment of love, bestowed upon us by the Father through His Son, Jesus Christ. Just as Christ abides in the love of His Father, we too must abide in love. Therefore, every aspect of our lives should overflow with love, recognising that, as friends of Christ, we have been specifically chosen by Him to live and act in love. Let us bear the fruits of patience and kindness, avoiding envy, boasting, or rudeness toward our neighbours. Furthermore, true love does not find joy in wrongdoing but rejoices in the truth. It does not take pleasure in a friend's discomfort but delights in assisting them in overcoming it. May God grant us the grace to consistently live out the commandment of love, thus affirming our identity as friends of Christ."
