Quote: Ez. 17:22-24; Ps 92:2-3,13-16; 2 Cor. 5:6-10
Date: Monday, 18th June, 2012
Author: Rev. Fr. George Obeng Ampah

1st Reading: Ez. 17:22-24

The Lord announces that he is going to take a tender shoot and plant it on a lofty mountain. This tender shoot will become a majestic tree which will give shade to all birds.

2nd Reading: 2 Cor. 5:6-10

It must be the aim of every Christian to please the Lord as each person will receive their recompense according to how they lived their lives.

Gospel: Mk 4:26-34

Jesus uses the parables of the seed scattered on the ground and the mustard seed to teach about the “quiet” presence of the Kingdom of God in our midst.

Reflection

The Kingdom of God is quietly but surely unfolding upon the world. To recognise this and to acknowledge the power of God and live by his commands will bring us the rewards and joys of heaven.
