The prophecy of Isaiah is about the birth of the son of a virgin. St. Paul, animated by the joy and happiness of being an Apostle, announced it to the Christian community at Rome. This prophecy is the final revelation of God which is accomplished in Jesus as the true “God with us”. To understand and accept this message of the scripture, we need faith. Joseph had faith in accepting Mary as his wife even though she was found to be with a child. Like Joseph, to receive Christ at Christmas, we will also need the gift of faith. Probably, we will require greater faith. We therefore need the advent gift of faith in these next few days through reading, praying, and studying of the teachings of the church and the Bible, before we can receive the gift of Jesus’ Christmas coming.
