Title: “EMBRACING COMPASSION AND SOLIDARITY”
Quote: Mk 1:40-45

On this Sunday, as we commemorate the "World Day for the Sick," the Holy Father directs our focus to the centrality of the sick, the vulnerable, and the poor within the Church. It is imperative that we extend love and care to them, refusing to abandon their needs. In Mark 1:40–45, Jesus, moved by compassion for a leper, promptly reached out to him, declaring, "I am willing. Be clean." From this, we glean two crucial lessons: the importance of swift and earnest assistance to the sick, and the necessity of avoiding false promises beyond our capacity to fulfill. Just as Jesus fulfilled His pledge to the leper, we should offer tangible support or, at the very least, uphold them in prayer. Additionally, let us guide and uplift the sick, mitigating feelings of vulnerability that might lead to desperate actions. May our sacrifices in attending to their needs be perceived as acts of charity rather than burdensome obligations.
