Luke in today's Gospel has Jesus at the end of teaching in Jerusalem, just prior to the events that will lead to his crucifixion. His warnings and predictions are threatening and worrisome.  However, He is assuring us, that God is present to all believers, even in times of trouble. As disciples of Jesus, we try to follow his example, trusting in God's mercy and protection, even when we are facing difficulties. They are times we will face persecution for our belief and conviction in the Lord. Perseverance in the face of these persecution will lead to us our salvation.
