Zacchaeus a tax collector and wealthy man, for that matter, shows himself to be someone in search of salvation. Zacchaeus, described as short in stature, climbs a tree in order to see Jesus. In his search for salvation, he humbled himself by making a spectacle of himself by climbing a tree.  Again, He disregards his status, wealthy and dignified a man as he was to climb a tree which is a common activity of children in order to encounter Christ who saves Jesus recognizes the faith and dare of this tax collector exhibited in his search for salvation and calls him down from the tree.  Like Zacchaeus may we be filled with enthusiasm and determination in search of our salvation.

May we put aside our pride to encounter our Lord.
