Legion of Mary

Legion of Mary is one of the early Societies to be established in the Church. It was formed as an Ewe Presidium under the name “Star of the Sea” Presidium and they used to go to Derby Avenue for the Curia meeting. As the membership increased with people of diverse ethnic backgrounds, the Ewe Presidium was converted into an English Praesidium in 1985, under the same name-“Star of Sea” Presidium. The Presidium has since been directly attached to the “Mother of Divine Grace’ Senatus based at the Holy Spirit Cathedral.

Members of the Legion have been active in the Church community in the following areas,

1. Catechism
2. Communion rounds with the Priest
3. Hospital Visitation
4. Home Visitation
5. Eucharistic Ministry
6. Church Pastoral Council
7. Annual Marian month celebrations.

A new Presidium, “Mother of Divine Grace”, has been formed at St. John Fisher Catholic Church since November 2014.

Our Meeting days are as follows:
– Star of the Sea Praesidium (St. Thomas More) – Sunday, after Mass
– Mother of Divine Grace Praesidium (St. John Fisher) – Thursday at 6:30 pm
